Artist, Carla Miedema, was born in the Netherlands, and after growing up in Kingston, has spent 47 years in the Cloyne area, on the edge of the Canadian Shield, and since then moved to Kingston.  Her keen interest in art led her to a succession of interest courses in art.  To enhance these skills, Carla graduated with a Fine Art Degree from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

            EDUCATION:  

1991  Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from Queen's University. 
1970... Raising my family of  five children.
1967- 85 Numerous interest courses in oil painting, pottery, and crafts.
1967 Registered Medical Technologist Degree from Kingston General Hospital, and C.S.L.T.

Friends of Bon Echo Board of Directors (1998-2000 Vice-President of  Friends of Bon Echo Park).  She was the chair and initiator of the annual Bon Echo Art Exhibition & Sale which happens annually the last weekend in July, at Bon Echo Provincial Park, Cloyne, ON
2001-2017
She is a member of the committee and helps with advertising and wherever help is needed.
2008-2017
Carla sets up the schedule & juries the artists to exhibit at the Colin Edwards Gallery, at greystones' Store & Bookshop, in Bon Echo Provincial Park.
1996-2000 Secretary of the North Addington Guild, which puts on "Showcase" annually, Cloyne, ON.

A few pieces of Carla' art was also included in the book "The Salmon River Watershed.
2007-2009
